Before you get started
Is PDF text editing the same as editing a Word document?
No. Text additions and supported replacements use overlays, not native paragraph reflow. Editable copies can retain covered source text, so ordinary visual replacement must not be treated as redaction.
How do we remove sensitive source text?
Use the separate reviewed secure image-only output or raster redaction workflow. These rebuild the pages without the original hidden text, but lose searchable text, native forms and editable markups.
Will every W-9 or I-9 retain all its behavior?
Supported standard fields can remain fillable, but XFA rules, scripts and Adobe certification are not guaranteed. Some files require an explicitly acknowledged working copy or flattened copy; personal signatures are not silently removed.
Are AI zones the same as signer fields?
No. Measurement zones are drawing markups. Signing fields use a separate review with confirmed recipients and placement before creating a signing draft. Neither AI review nor draft preparation sends the document automatically.
Can we open the markups in other PDF readers?
Exports include portable PDF comments and polygon annotations for supported zones. This does not promise full Bluebeam-native measurement behavior or perfect compatibility with every external editor.
