The work, from start to finish

Start with the scope and contract

Keep the contract amount, locations, project tasks and related files together. Use project templates to give repeated work a consistent starting point.

Plan the sequence of work

Organize phases, tasks and dependencies with a Gantt schedule. Customer-work crew deployment belongs in Dispatch's Project Crews; employee shifts belong in People.

Changes stay visible

Track change orders alongside the project and review work waiting for billing. Keep scope changes connected to the contract rather than buried in a separate document.

Costs come from real records

Project costs include job-coded labor, vendor bills and expenses. Follow the originating records to understand the numbers instead of entering the same cost again.

Field photos and files

Attach photos and documents to the job so the office and permitted team members can work from the same project context.

Know what is left to bill

Review contract value, invoiced-to-date, paid amounts and open balances. Prepare progress invoices through Accounting while retaining the project link.

Connected work. Separate companies.

Keep working in the active company, with the records and permissions assigned to your role. Linked information brings the field and office together without merging company data.

Before you get started

Where do project costs come from?

Job-coded time, vendor bills and expenses contribute to project costs. Correct coding and authorized review remain important; an uncoded cost is not automatically assigned to a job.

How does progress billing work?

Progress invoices are tied to the project's contract amount. Customer/project billing views show invoiced, paid, outstanding and remaining-to-bill amounts.

Is crew scheduling part of Projects?

Project task schedules are in Projects. Dispatch handles customer-work deployment through Project Crews, while People manages employee shifts and availability.

Can everyone see every project?

Access depends on company membership and the permissions granted to the person. Switching companies changes the available records and tools.
